Cold Iron Gym is trying to revive the USPF in AZ, having very little activity since the passing of AZ State Chairman Bill Decker. Right after Bill's passing, all of the State Records were lost and never recovered.

If you would like to read about all of Bill's accomplishments, please go to:

The new AZ State Chairman, Vince Moser, and Cold Iron Gym decided to revive the USPF in AZ by having a Deadlift Sanctioned Meet, which was a success. New Single Lift Deadlift Records were made. On January 19, 2008, the Gym staged a Push/Pull Meet (Bench & Deadlift), which was another success. AZ State Records in the Single Lift Deadlift were made and broken. Also, new Single Lift Bench Records were set. This is your opportunity to make or break AZ State Records if you are an Arizonian resident because there are plenty of them to be gotten. There are no records for a Full Meet yet so get busy on the squat, bench and deadlift! If you're new and want to start competing in the USPF, check out the rules at www.powerliftingca.com

The United States Powerlifting Federation started in CA. It was the first powerlifting federation ever, breaking away from the AAU and formed in 1963. Since that time, many other powerlifting federations and organizations have been formed, pulling away many USPF powerlifters thru out the US by offering different lifting rules, requirements, apparel, etc. but they all have used the USPF rules, etc. as a basis in doing this. The USPF will always be #1 in my book as it was the true beginning of this competitive sport in the US. I lifted USPF from 1980-1991 and was inducted into the first CA Powerlifting Hall of Fame in 2004. I have nothing against the other federations and organizations. Just partial to the USPF because it was the first and got powerlifting known thru out the US.

When my daughter, Sheri Hartmann, Owner of Cold Iron Gym, and I decided to have USPF powerlifting meets, we set our goals to try and bring back former USPF lifters and to recruit new lifters to the USPF. We offer 1st Class Meets, low entry fees,  great Best Lifter trophies for Open, Submaster, and Master Divisions, male and female, beautiful USPF Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals, a unique Old West type Certificate to all participants and a fantastic Program created by Sheri for everyone to take home as a remembrance of the meet.

We can use all the input you can give us as to the types of meets you would like to participate in i.e. Full or Single Lift meets, months you would like to see meets in, etc. Please just email me at brock5851@aol.com with your input or suggestions. Also, we are trying to attain AZ State Referees so if you are interested in becoming one, please contact me or Vince at jmoser4@cox.net If you are in the Phoenix area and would like to stage a USPF Meet, again please contact Vince.

Thank you very much,          Danni Hartmann Eldridge
